How does the ticket lottery work when an event goes on sale?
Bradley Center and Ticketmaster Outlets use a lottery system for all special event and concert on sales. The lottery serves the public's interest in a number of important ways including:
Eliminates the need for patrons to "camp out" in advance of the on sale;
Assures all patrons seeking tickets at the time the event goes on sale an equal opportunity to purchase the best seats; and
Substantially reduces the opportunity for ticket brokers to purchase the best seats only to resell them for a profit at more than the artist intended.
While the lottery process is slightly different at the Bradley Center and Ticketmaster Outlets, they both work as follows:
Patrons wishing the best opportunity for tickets need to be at the place of purchase at least one hour before the designated on sale time.
All patrons present one hour before the on sale will participate in a random lottery to establish their position in line.
Every patron has an equal chance of being first in line to purchase tickets [and correspondingly last in line-but think positively].
There is normally an eight (8) ticket limit the day a concert goes on sale.
Contact your preferred Ticketmaster Outlet or the Bradley Center to confirm if the lottery system will be used for a specific location for a specific event on sale.
